About Cordyceps Sinensis

Cordyceps sinensis (Botanical name:Ophiocordyceps sinensis) is a fungus in the family Cordyceps sinensis. Fruit body: annual, clay-shaped, leathery when fresh, no special odor, light yellow at base, yellow in middle, dark brown at top, white inside, woody after drying, grayish to dark brown outside, smooth to slightly rough, white inside, up to 6 cm long and up to 2 mm in diameter.

Cordyceps sinensis is mostly born in the alpine mountains at an altitude of 3000-4000 meters, mainly in the soil of grassland, river valley and grass. In China, it is mainly distributed in Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and other provinces (autonomous regions) in the alpine areas and snow-covered mountains.

Cordyceps sinensis is a unique Chinese herbal medicine. It is listed as three major supplements with ginseng and antler, which are recorded in ancient Chinese traditional medicine books. Functions and indications are: tonifying kidney and lung, hemostasis and eliminating phlegm.
